Admissions

Partnership: IISc and your parent company where you are currently employed (sponsoring institution) will need to sign an agreement to participate in the IISc M.Tech.(Online) program. Details of these are on the IISc IKEN website. This agreement will cover all majors and specializations offered under the M.Tech.(Online) degree program, including DSBA.

Nominations: Prior to the start of an academic year, the company may nominate employees from their organization, such as yourself, to the program. The company may use its discretion in shortlisting their employees, as long as they meet the minimum eligibility for a program. The company is responsible for paying the fees for any nominated candidate who clears the interview and is admitted to the program. The company is also responsible for providing sufficient time to make progress toward the degree.

Minimum Eligibility: All candidates nominated for the DSBA program must meet these eligibility requirements:

  • BE/BTech/BS(4yrs)/Equivalent (4yrs degree/diploma after 12th std) or Masters degree, in any discipline, and
  • At least 50% of marks or equivalent CGPA in all degrees, and
  • Two years of industrial experience, and
  • A strong mathematical and programming background

Interview: DSBA will conduct an online technical test followed by a video interview for the nominated candidates. This will evaluate the technical ability of the candidate to succeed in the coursework and may include topics such as mathematics, basic programming, problem solving, etc. at the undergraduate level. Successful candidates will be admitted to the degree program.

Timeline: Nominations are typically due by March of the year the academic program starts, and admissions decisions will be notified by May of that year. The semester will start by August.
